Abstract

Abstract: The Arab travelers and writers who lived in the fourth century AH, through their works, contributed to the embodiment of cultural and intellectual openness to the outside world, and they had a great favor for geographer's researchers and historians. They left us treasures of works that turned into a cultural and human heritage. Among those travelers are Ahmed bin Fadlan. His journey to the country of the Russians - through many countries and territories - is one of the oldest sources in ancient Russia and the first Arabic manuscript to describe non-Muslims. He described a fine description of all the conditions of the men, the status of woman, their way of life, the burial of the dead and their faith in God, as well as the description of strange customs and practices that differ from Islamic practices and values. And this is what this study sought to explain, asking God to reconcile.
