Abstract

The current research tackles the high esteem with which The prince of Believers (Pbuh) held prophet Mohammed (Pbuh). Prophet Mohammed was the role model and perfect example for Imam Ali from whom he learnt determination and hard work. Prophet Mohammed used to comfort Imam Ali and console him in the times of hardships and crises. Therefore, Imam Ali faced all the difficulties and troubles with patience and composure, having unshaken faith that Islam was the core of his existence. In his sermons and speeches, Imam Ali kept Prophet Mohammed in constant mention, reminding people of the prophet’s life and the temporal and spatial trajectory of his sacred mission. The present paper discusses the important place Prophet Mohammed occupied in these sermons, a place that is marked by its power and nobility. The readers/ listeners of all times and places are most impressed by the way Imam Ali described Prophet Mohammed whose life and works, as elaborated on in Imam Ali’s sermons, inspire admiration and reverence. The research focuses on only a few of the references to Prophet Mohammed in Nahj Al-Balaghah since they are too many to cover in one single study.
