The Image of Jarir in the Poetry of Farazdaq and Al-Akhtal: A Moral Image as an Example

Abstract

This research focuses on studying and analyzing the moral and behavioral image of Jarir in the poetry of his contemporaries Farazdaq and Al-Akhtal. The poets' concentration was on stripping Jarir of his inherent qualities and replacing them with traits that denigrate him among the Arabs, such as cowardice, low lineage, and ignoble descent, along with other traits steeped in belittlement and disparagement. All of this was an attempt by them to diminish all virtues attributed to Jarir, to undermine his psychological state, and to make him a subject of ridicule for their audience.
