The Iraqi Journal of Physics is an open-access scientific journal that focuses on publishing genuine papers in the physical sciences in both applied and theoretical fields. Due to its wide scope, the Iraqi Journal of Physics may also accept papers in other fields of relevance, such as chemistry, astronomy, remote sensing, and some specific science and engineering applications that are related to physics.

Being the first specialized journal in physical science in the Republic of Iraq, the Iraqi Journal of Physics holds a significant place among all other scientific journals published in this field of science. The central role of this journal was revealed by the importance of physics science development in the academic society of Iraq. Such development began decades ago and it marked the Iraqi scientific society as being the most distinguished of the notable and extended efforts of its members. The Iraqi Journal of Physics is published under the license of Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC-BY). It was published quadruple by the University of Baghdad, Iraq in January 2002. The Journal is using Turinit to prevent plagiarism and ensure the originality of our submitted manuscripts. A double-blind peer-reviewing scheme is used to assure the quality of the publication.
